About a year ago Orange St Films was lucky enough to work with an amazing organization out of Virginia Beach, VA called Wounded Wear. The founder, Jason Redman, is a true American hero in every sense of the word. He's a former Navy Seal who was severely injured in a firefight in Iraq in 2007. He made a remarkable recovery and is a inspiration to all those he comes in contact with. Orange St FIlms has been fortunate enough to work with Jason and his lovely wife Erica on several different video projects but today we wanted to post a video we did about a year ago telling the story of Jason and Wounded Wear and another amazing American hero named Tyler Southern. It was a true honor of ours to be in these mens' presence and we are extremely humbled and blessed for the opportunity to work with them and more so for the sacrifice they've made for our country. So please take a minute to view the Wounded Wear video and feel free to comment and like.

#Youtube or #Vimeo? We ask a lot of our clients if they've heard of the #video sharing site vimeo and surprisingly a lot of people still haven't heard of vimeo. It's been around for a few years now but we look at as a higher end/more #professional version of youtube. We love youtube and build many of our clients #youtube pages but there are so many pluses to using #vimeo over youtube. First, if you choose, you can automatically have your videos play in #HighDefinition in vimeo but in youtube you have to change the grind gear at the bottom right corner to play in HighDef and I'd dare to say that 80% of people watching youtube don't know to do that or don't bother to change the quality. For a professional video company it is very important that our work be viewed in the highest quality possible. Second, if you watch the same video on your smart phone on youtube and then watch it on vimeo it's night and day. The #video on youtube is grainy and digitized and the video on vimeo is crystal clear. Third, if you are a vimeo Pro member, you can customize the elements around your video and even take the Vimeo logo off if you want. That way #clients and #businesses can embed the video on their site and it look like it's a part of their website and not hosted by a third party site. Don't get me wrong #YouTube is the king and I'm a big advocate of youtube but I'm also a huge fan of #Vimeo and I love what they are doing and the way they do business. I guess it's a personal preference but I advise using both sites to host your videos.
September has creeped up on us once again and you know what that means? That's right, it's football season. I'm just going to assume that if you're into film or movies that you are also a football fan. Not sure why I'd make that assumption because I normally don't make assumptions at all but film and sports have always gone hand in hand. Think about it, all the sports movies ever made, the ESPY's, professional athletes trying to be actors, haha, you get my point. It's a great time of year when the leaves change, the weather gets a little colder, depending on where you live, and another Fast and Furious is in pre-production. Okay this blog doesn't make much sense but it's okay, we just want to keep writing. Thanks for reading.
People are lazy. There is no denying that. We at Orange St Films are lazy......sometimes, okay when a good football or basketball game comes on we are extremely lazy but that's not the point here so stop yelling at us, haha. Anyways through the years we have learned a lot about producing videos and have found that the average, everyday person will 8 times out of 10 rather hit the play button on a video than sit there and read a 2 to 3 paragraph text on a website (this is not scientific but it sounds good, so we'll just roll with it, maybe 7.5 out of 10). We have done thousands of web business profiles for clients leading to millions of dollars worth of business for our clients. We have proven that video works. It may not work for every business and if your business is flourishing without video being a part of your marketing plan then continue to do what you're doing. But if you've been on the fence about whether or not you should produce a video highlighting what your company does please feel free to take a drive down Orange St, you won't be disappointed. We are one of the happiest streets in the world. Plus we are pretty good filmmakers too.
'The Creek' is the newest professional music video produced by #OrangeStFilms. Shot in Bladen Co., North Carolina in the cornfields in the heat of summer in the middle of July. There is a lot of 'in the's' in that last sentence, huh? We had fun making this music video for this catchy song by singer/songwriter Bear Wisconsin. Music by Tommy Brothers. We would like to thank Zach Boylston, Wes Evans, Mark Robinson, Marty Siu, Logan Siu and a host of others for helping us out the with video. Directed and edited by Billy Lewis this video is quite different and quirky but certainly entertaining. Take a minute to sit back and enjoy the music video and be certain to contact Orange St Films for all your TV/Film/Video needs. You won't find a finer street in the world than Orange St. Summer is right around the corner and have you thought about your summer marketing plans yet? If you live in or around the Wilmington, NC how beautiful is this day? Low humidity, sunny and the low 70's. WOW! So blessed to be around this area!!!! That's all. #Film #Moviemaking #Weather
This is a really neat new product that could change the steadicam/camera stabilizing industry. Take a look at the video and read the article if you are the least bit interested in film, or if you're bored at least watch the video. We had nothing to do with this but it's pretty cool and hopefully will be affordable for independent filmmakers.
