We had a great time producing a new music video for up and coming artist, Nick Allen, last week. We shot in and around the #Wilmington area on Oct. 8th and had the video edited and finalized by the middle of this week. It was a great experience for us and for the musician. We hired a great drone operator who got us some really slick and unique aerial shots that we feel added a whole new element to the video and the production. We shot on our new Sony FS7 camera and shot in 4K and couldn't be happier with the look of the video. We had a beautiful location in a wooded area in Brunswick Co.....an area that we feel is untapped and unused and could potentially be used for another shoot.....oh I don't know....maybe a new horror film, haha. But we really did have a great time with the shoot and truly hope this video will in some way help this artist to possibly get signed and get a record deal. It's always rewarding having a happy client. It's also satisfying knowing that we did a good job at what we were hired to do and truly created something from nothing. Give us thoughts on the video. We will post here and it's also on our music video page section.

We recently wrote, shot, directed and edited one of the funner TV commercials we've ever done. We will post some pictures and we don't want to give it away but it involves a goat being on a roof. The commercial is for a newer client called Atlantic Disaster Services and despite the theme or nature of with the goat being in the commercial we hope first and foremost that it brings more business to ADS. It was one of the funnest shoots we've been on in a long time and we stepped out of our comfort zone big time with this commercial. There were a lot of firsts. We used a drone to shoot some of the commercial. We also shot in 4K with our new #SonyFS7 camera. We've been editing on Final Cut Pro for a long time but are slowly transitioning over to Premiere Pro. So all in all it was a great shoot and the final commercial has turned out fantastic. We will post the commercial soon but for now here are some still pictures. At Orange St Films we are booking summer video production jobs with a fury. Not only is the weather heating up but our list of clientele is too. From #businessprofiles, to #TVCommercials to #musicvideos we are very blessed and honored that businesses and individuals are taking a chance on our company to bring their ideas to life in the form of #video.
Like we said in an earlier blog we recently purchased a smart #drone from 3D Robotics called 'Solo - The Smart Drone.' Although we haven't received it yet we will by the end of May and already have 3 businesses lined up to take advantage of this new toy that brings a unique perspective to a video production. We've learned over the years that if you do good work, are honest, and treat people the right way that work continues to find you and we've built this company on those 3 principals. Video works, the studies don't lie. So if you've been thinking of producing a video for your business/corporation or whatever please give us a call today to discuss how we can make that vision a reality. #9102315057 Several weeks back we were asked by one of our top clients to produce a video addressing the capital needs of their school district. We had a tight deadline to work with but were really excited to help them and produce the best possible video we could. We shot for a couple of days and edited for a couple of days and came up with a video that not only we were proud of but the school district played it for their county commissioners and they were blown away by the quality and content. They wondered how they could get this vital video out to the public to help get the necessary bond on the ballet in the fall of 2016 so the schools in that district could get the improvements and upgrades they so desperately need. We are proud of this video and are not trying to toot our own horn. The reason we are writing this is it makes us so satisfied when we can produce a video from nothing and it have the impact (potentially impact) to help improve something that is so critical for our communities....our schools. Take a look at it and let us know what you think. Although we will not be able to attend the show this year in #LasVegas we are always super excited about the NAB shows. Tons of new gadgets, camera accessories, gear, cameras, etc. is always announced and if you are not keeping up with the latest trends and technology in the film/video industry then you will get left behind quick.
Of course 4K has been the big craze over the last several years so we are anxious to see what companies will be announcing new cameras and the price tags associated with those cameras. Orange St Films recently purchased the new #SonyFS7 camera and are still working out the kinks and buying more equipment to have our new 4K camera ready for future projects. If you are interested at all in film production and new technology then read articles and watch videos coming out of the NAB show this entire week. It's a great and exciting time in the world of digital video so study up and pay attention so you don't get left behind. We are proud to have been working with the NCASA, North Carolina Association of School Administrators, over the last couple of years on multiple projects but are really happy about the celebration that will take place tomorrow afternoon in Raleigh, NC. It's the 175th anniversary celebration of North Carolina Public Schools. We will be filming the event plus broadcasting it live tomorrow starting at 2. You can watch here or in many other places such as the NCASA website, Brunswick County Schools Facebook page, etc. It's a big deal to be celebrating 175 years of public schools and again we are so honored to have been hired to produce the videos and bring this celebration to the world tomorrow. Orange St Films recently purchased the new #4K ready Sony FS7 camera. We couldn't be happier about the purchase and can finally now offer clients the option to shoot in 4K. In case you don't know 4K is the latest craze in video production. Normal high res, high def is 1920 by 1080, well 4K is 4096 by 2160 or 3840 by 2160. That may not mean much to someone outside of the industry but the bottom line is that it means a better looking video frame. We could geek out and talk more about but all you really need to know is that we are 4K ready now so please contact today for all of your film and video needs. We will be posting some sample shots from the new camera very soon so be on the lookout for that. Have a great weekend.
