Spring is right around the corner for most of us and depending on where you live in the world I know it can't come a moment to soon.  That's all.

Orange St Films was privileged enough to recently have a intern come spend a few weeks at our company from a #French film school.  It was a delight to work with this young, hungry film student who is eager to learn and is willing to soak up the little bit of knowledge we've attained over the years.  While here we did something we haven't done in a few years and that was make a new short #film.  We wrote the film very quickly and then shot the entire movie in  a day and a half with over 5 very diverse locations around the Wilmington, NC area.  It's very refreshing to have someone new join your team, if only for a little while, because it's a good reminder why we do what we do.  We sat down and edited the film in a day or so, give or take a little.  We had a little premiere of the film in downtown Wilmington at the Blind Elephant (the bar profiled in the short film).  The movie is on our home page but we will leave a youtube link below and please take a minute to watch it, rate it, critique it.  Thanks.  It stars Josh Allen, Mark Darby Robinson and Mollie Lewis and we'd like to thank them and everyone involved with this little project for their time and hard work.  We are so blessed to do what we do and more than anything we love, love, love creating something from nothing and that's what we did with 'Escape'.  Watch in 1080 for the best quality or the #vimeo link on the front page automatically plays in #highdef.  #film #filmmaking #movies #shortfilm #actor #Camera #hollywood #action

We've not taken the time to say Happy New Year to the world yet so better late than never I guess.  2013 was a great year for Orange St Films but like any company with big dreams and aspirations we strive to be better year after year and that's exactly what we plan to do here in the new year.  Have some great new projects in the works that we are keeping a hush on for the time being but it promises to be a productive year down on Orange St.  What are your goals and plans for the New Year?  What was that you said 'to hit the gym and lose those pounds?'  Come on you can be a little bit more original than that.  Why don't you strive to do one thing differently every day, just one little thing that you've never done in your life before that time.  Whether it be taking a different way to work, walking a different path, or finally having that smile on your face that you've been battling to come out for quite some time.  Think differently and be differently in 2014 and you will feel much better about yourself and life.

We recently had the opportunity to produce a very touching story for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office about a little dog named Springer.  Without giving to much away (just take 2 minutes out of your day to watch the video below....you won't be disappointed) we got the chance to spend the day with Springer and Lt. Thomas Tolley who is head of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Animal Protective Services.  It's always gratifying from our end to be able to tell a story that not many people would normally get a chance to hear.  This #video is a perfect example of us knowing as a company we are on the right path and we wouldn't trade our job for any other job in the world.  Take a couple minutes to view the video and please feel free to comment and leave some feedback and remember that we should all treat #animals with the utmost respect because they are #God's creatures too.

Today is Monday November 11, 2013.  It is Veteran's Day here in the United States and we at #OrangeStFilms would like to take a minute and say thank you to all the #veterans past, present and future.  Freedom is not free and without all of these brave men and women who have so selflessly given their time, energy and many their lives we salute you and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We've had the pleasure to work with different servicemen and women over the years on a variety of projects and have been able to get a little glimpse inside the lives of these heroes and have been able to understand a little better the tremendous sacrifices they make on a daily basis.  We will share a video we produced over the last couple months with a true American hero, #JasonRedman, talking about his experiences and the writing of his new book #TheTrident.  God Bless all of our veterans and once again #thankyou. 

Stumbled across this gem on filmmaking/editing on youtube earlier today.  Obviously it wasn't shot yesterday and filmmaking has changed so much since Hitchcock made films but boy is it neat to hear one of the pioneers of film talk about a very important aspect of filmmaking #editing.  If you're an aspiring editor or want to learn different aspects in making #movies, #commercials, #music videos, web #videos, etc. please take some time out to watch this not just once but several times over and absorb it.  Would've been really cool to be on a set with Alfred Hitchcock and glad he took the time to sit down and talk about his craft on #camera.

We shot a new TV commercial last week for a Med Spa and turned the final project around in a day.  They gave us a lot of creative control and were extremely happy with the way the final cut turned out.  The commercial called for a #English #Bulldog and we were lucky enough to find a cool, cool dog named Chubs.  He breathed really heavy and slobbered every where so that presented a bit of a problem but at the end of the day we got what we needed out of him.  Please contact us for unique TV commercials that are guaranteed to get your business noticed by potential clients.  #film #movies #TVCommercials

We released the new series 'A Week With Mark' last night on youtube, Facebook, etc.  It's about Mark Darby Robinson, a simple man who doesn't take himself or life to seriously.  He also happens to be a brilliant actor.  There have been some rumblings that this series was made to 'exploit' or 'pick on' this man, well we are hear to tell you that couldn't be farther from the truth.  We have known this man for over 12 years and care more about him as a person than about any body else in our lives.  He is goofy, quirky, odd, weird.....all of those things but first and foremost he's a good person and our sole purpose of this series (which was going to be a documentary but evolved into the web series) was to preserve who Mark Robinson is for all of time to know.  He's very proud of this first episode and has our blessing to continue to produce these episodes.  They may not always make the most sense but they will be entertaining.  So go on over the Film/Web Series section here or go to  aweekwithmark.com  and take a look at the first episode.  Feel free to comment or support in any way possible.  #film #tv #movies #moviemaking #filmmaker #lights #camera #action
