It's Friday April 11th and around the Wilmington, NC area it's officially spring today because the Azalea Festival has kicked off and it's now full steam ahead into summer. The weather is beautiful here, sunny and 75 today, although it may not be where you currently are, but hang in there. Count your blessings each and every day and be thankful that God has given you another day on this earth. Do something different today and reflect on all the positive things in your life. Have a great weekend.

A couple weeks back we got to film a chase scene set up by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office. It was an intense shoot as we were allowed to film from all different angles. We got a lot of great shots considering everything was pretty chaotic and not planned out as well as we'd like for it to be. To tell the truth a lot of it was impromptu and sometimes that's okay and you just kind of roll with the punches and get what you get. It was a great experience and we put together what turned out to be a great video that the Sheriff's Office was very pleased with. Take a look for yourself below and any feedback would be outstanding. #film #movies #carchase #camera #filmmaker #filmmaking #orangestfilms We were lucky enough to be a part of the #NCASA conference in Raleigh, NC yesterday. We put together a video, which we'll post later, that played at the conference in front of many of the top educators from the state and it's always gratifying to see your work played on the big screen over a real sound system, haha. We got a great response from the video which we at Orange St Films are so proud of and feel it's one of the better videos we've produced over the last couple years. We also did many interviews with those educators including one of North Carolina's finest governors Jim Hunt Jr. He was governor from 77-85 and 93-01, the longest tenured governor in NC history. He's very passionate about education and a big advocate of the public school system. It was refreshing to hear his passion and belief in the future of education in North Carolina. We were very honored to be a part of this conference and movement in NC to improve the public school system in the great state on North Carolina. #film #movies #filmmaking #hollywood #filmmaker #camera
We recently did more work with the #BrunswickCountySheriffsOffice on a new video profiling it's volunteer program. Right now they have one of the top volunteer programs in the state of North Carolina. It's a model that any sheriff's office or organization looking to implement volunteers into it's day to day activities should take a look and learn from. Sheriff Ingram and his staff do things the right way and we are honored to continue to be able to work with them and showcase to the public what their office does on a day to day basis in it's many capacities. The #video runs about 4 minutes and we tried to highlight the different areas in which volunteers can be a part of. It's astounding to us at #OrangeStFilms that volunteers saved the taxpayers of #BrunswickCounty nearly $450K in 2013 alone in potential salaries. We've gotten great feedback on the video and again we were very honored to be able to produce such a video on a worthy cause and effort. Take a looky and give us some feedback if you will. Spring is right around the corner for most of us and depending on where you live in the world I know it can't come a moment to soon. That's all.
Orange St Films was privileged enough to recently have a intern come spend a few weeks at our company from a #French film school. It was a delight to work with this young, hungry film student who is eager to learn and is willing to soak up the little bit of knowledge we've attained over the years. While here we did something we haven't done in a few years and that was make a new short #film. We wrote the film very quickly and then shot the entire movie in a day and a half with over 5 very diverse locations around the Wilmington, NC area. It's very refreshing to have someone new join your team, if only for a little while, because it's a good reminder why we do what we do. We sat down and edited the film in a day or so, give or take a little. We had a little premiere of the film in downtown Wilmington at the Blind Elephant (the bar profiled in the short film). The movie is on our home page but we will leave a youtube link below and please take a minute to watch it, rate it, critique it. Thanks. It stars Josh Allen, Mark Darby Robinson and Mollie Lewis and we'd like to thank them and everyone involved with this little project for their time and hard work. We are so blessed to do what we do and more than anything we love, love, love creating something from nothing and that's what we did with 'Escape'. Watch in 1080 for the best quality or the #vimeo link on the front page automatically plays in #highdef. #film #filmmaking #movies #shortfilm #actor #Camera #hollywood #action |
